I recently walked into this store with a friend coming from work within the mall. I needed some bath products cause I tend to have bathroom OCD. I shop here all the time, reward card proves it. Yet moments after my friend and I went looking for items a mall guard walked to the side of us and circled. A lady then proceeded to stand outside the aisle and watch us. Extremely uncomfortable. I'm a manager myself and what she did was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant for a customer. The guard was clearly called. I didn't mention yet, my friend and I are people of color. I had no bags and she had a small bag from our job. I was so upset and uncomfortable I wanted to drop the item I had and walk out. I have NEVER experienced this before. I asked for her name, Ashley, she told me and I left before buying the item I actually needed. I doubt I'll shop here again after.
I went into Ulta about two months ago to get my eyebrows done at the Benefit counter. Since it was my first time going into Ulta I was not sure where to go considering the store is very big and kind of overwhelming. I went all the way to the back of the store which is the salon. I asked both of the girls standing at the salon counter "Where can I get my eyebrows done?" and one of them just pointed to her left hand side and said "over there by the Benefit counter". Obviously, like a stated before, this was my first time in the store and I had no idea where Benefit was, so I was a little annoyed that she didn't even bother to walk me over there. Anyway, I get to the Benefit counter and the girl there was already helping another person so I waited. I wasn't browsing at any of the products, I was literally just standing there and made eye contact with the girl at the Benefit counter several times and not once did she acknowledge me or ask if I am waiting to be helped. I waited for about ten or fifteen minutes assuming she would eventually say something to me, but she didn't. I left the store and went to a local nail salon to get my eyebrows done. I have never been back to Ulta since because of their poor customer services. I rather walk across the mall to Sephora where everyone is willing to help.
I love ulta however, the customer service here is HORRIBLE! I walked in just to browse around picked up a couple of lipsticks/lipgloss and I was looking at a palette but needed help and had a few questions. ALL of the employees were by the register just talking and laughing. They clearly saw me and completely ignored me. So I put everything back and left. Clearly no one wanted my money so I went to sephora instead.
When I got my hair done here, the hair dressers were talking trash about the people who go to their salon with no thin hair. I was getting spoken to very rudely, but since I’m the one paying they should have not talked to me that way. Like I said before, they talk bad about their customers that have thin hair but I don’t understand because if someone Is PAYING them to do their hair then NOTHING SHOULD BE SAID. they are complaining about styling “thin” hair but it’s literally their job!!! If they are going to complain about doing their job then they just shouldn’t work there. If I wanted crappy hair I would’ve done it myself
Honestly great sales and products but the manager/employees there need manners I asked for a good moisturizer she asked what I use I told the manager I use Clinique and she said "ew I hate that product" they carry that in the store?? So first off she shouldn't speak about the stores prodcuts that way and could've suggested nicely something else. Very rude.
Another instance I went to get my birthday gift and the cashier told me they were out of it. Sephora never runs out of birthday gifts so I personally don't understand but I said okay so I get nothing and she handed me a tiny sample of moisturizer.... I'm embarrassed for that store.
