The expression buying a Harley is life changing comes alive at Danbury Harley. They treat you like a friend not just a sale.
My husband and I visited HD Danbury to inquire about a used bike on their website, as well as to look at the new models. We were greeted by Josh, who seemed friendly and willing to help. My husband told Josh how he has had two HD’s and currently owns a different brand, but misses his HD very much. He went so far as to show Josh pictures of his last HD. He also told Josh that I just recently got my license and we are in the market for a second bike for me (two bike deal - any good sales person would be thoroughly engaged at this point). When my husband asked about the used 2013, Josh explained that it was upstairs in the warehouse, and (reluctantly) he could bring it down, if we wanted. We decided to look at some of the new models, and he invited my husband to sit on them. Josh asked about the color of the bike we currently have, and my husband explained how it is similar to HD’s Merlot Sunglow. A few minutes later, Josh asked the same question, and even saying, “Please don’t say white!” At that point we realized Josh was not engaged in our conversation, so my husband, rather than go through the story again, proceeded to show Josh a picture of the bike. My husband then sat on another model, spoke of the improvements HD has made, and suddenly Josh shook my husband’s hand, said Happy New Year, and walked away from us, leaving us to wonder what just happened. We immediately left the dealership, as it seemed to us that Josh was not interested in having us as customers. Out of a 20-30 minute visit, Josh was with us for about 10 minutes. We were very disappointed in the experience. I called Josh the next day and left him a voicemail to please call me back. I never received a call back. Two days later I called again and spoke with Josh. I asked him why the abrupt departure when we were clearly interested in a one, possibly two, bike purchase. He had no answers for me, and even came up with some very stretched possibilities. He even went so far as to imply that he thought we were possibly “window shopping!” This is our second disappointing experience with HD Danbury, and suffice it to say, it’s highly doubtful we will return for a potential third.
I do have to say that not only do they treat you like family, they have bikes!!
Again, if you're looking for a specific bike, come see the team at Danbury, if they don't have it today, they will make every effort to find it or build it.
Things started out a little rocky but after filling out their survey and telling of my experience, the owner and staff went above and beyond to win back my loyalty as a customer. I am a vet and they are extremely vet friendly. I am also aware as a business owner that sometimes things go left. If they got it right the first time they would have got 5 stars. But their determination to make things right is why I will continue to use them as my dealership as long as they continue to give me the quality service they have given me moving forward.
They didn't just care about me, they looked out for my passengers comfort too, with suggestions and accessories to make it more than a ride, they helped me create an experience.
Always feel welcomed and treated well. When I wanted a new bike the team made the process easy. Was treated with respect. It became a relationship not a transaction. Months later when there was a mechanical issue, Dan and Carl were first rate. Would recommend this dealer to all.
Thank you guys for the atmosphere at Danbury!
And when they do ... they don't just sell you a bike, they create a friendship making it easy to get up and go.
Great experience. Josh went above and beyond my expectations for customer service. We walked thru the whole showroom, talked about each bike, and answered all my questions - that meet my expectation. On a 30° cold day, Josh lead me on a test ride of a V-rod. Afterwards, I talked with Al, the owner. No pressure sales environment, just giving all the facts and options. Shop here with confidence. I'll be going back tomorrow!
I searched all over for "the bike", found it at Danbury Harley Davidson, talked about my finances and they were happy to make a friend and in turn create a new bike owner. I am so happy I waited to find "the bike"!
